RCB vs RR

Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals have squared off 34 times since 2008, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru winning 15 matches and 14 going the other way – plus two unresolved games that saw thrilling finishes and standout performances during every contest. Both clubs enjoy a fierce rivalry which often produces thrilling finishes in every matchup!

Kohli and Padikkal started the chase off quickly for RCB with Kohli making a crucial 155 score at halfway stage, then slumped downhill after that with Jofra Archer and Dhruv Jurel coming through for them both to narrow the deficit by only 30 runs at 151/6 behind RCB before Hazlewood produced a match-winning over in 19th over by dismissing both batsmen to finish his match-winning four wicket haul of 4/33!

RR were behind but kept close with Jofra Archer and Jurel batting well until Krunal Pandya bowled an outstanding spell to control run scoring and take two key wickets while Krunal Pandya bowled an incredible spell to keep score under control and take two crucial wickets during RR’s own mini collapse;

Krunal Pandya bowled fantastic spell that managed run-scoring under control and took two crucial wickets of his own to reduce deficit – but Hazlewood produced another superb over in 19th over to dismiss both players for 4/33 match victory!

RCB are hoping to end their trophy drought in IPL 2025 under new captain Rajat Patidar. Their team boasts star player Virat Kohli but, despite reaching three finals, have yet to claim an IPL championship title.

Both teams have been present since 2008 and look to make an impressionful statement during IPL 2025 based on strong campaigns in 2024. Both franchises will play their home matches away from M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium due to a stampede tragedy which occurred last year, forcing them to find alternative venues to host home matches. Both franchises are actively exploring suitable alternatives as their home venues.

IPL 2025

Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the world’s premier franchise-based Twenty20 cricket competitions, featuring ten teams competing for its 2023 title. Broadcast will take place across multiple platforms – including JioStar Sports streaming service; anticipated popularity surpasses previous offerings which combined free and pay-per-view events.

Sony paid US$5.1 billion for India Premier League television rights – five times more than for English Premier League rights! Sony also held onto their TV and digital rights for India subcontinent television and digital rights during this season – more than double what had previously been recorded for IPL rights deals! IPL broadcasts have also outstripped viewership figures for all cricket matches played across India over the last 10 years!

IPL 2025 kicked off on March 22 with Kolkata Knight Riders hosting Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata.

This tournament will run for two months with 74 matches held across 13 cities throughout India; its last match will take place in Kolkata on May 25. Four teams qualified to enter playoffs: top two will meet each other for Qualifier 1 while third and fourth placed teams will contest Eliminator matches.

RCB and RR have met 32 times throughout IPL history, with the former winning 14 of those matches. Both sides have struggled this season, with RR losing seven out of their eight matches while RCB have been defeated four times; nevertheless, both remain competitive enough to finish in the top four finisher position.

Royals currently sit seventh in the standings with two wins and four losses, while Royal Challengers Bangalore are eighth with six points.

These teams have met twice this season at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur – with Royals winning their first encounter before both scoring over 300 runs in an intense second encounter that both scored more than 300 runs during. On Sunday, The Royals hope to improve on recent performances when hosting RCB at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Head-to-Head Record

Since 2008, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have competed in 34 Indian Premier League (IPL) matches against each other – of these matches 14 have gone in favour of RCB while 17 went their way and three ended without an outcome.

Rajasthan defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by seven wickets at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru recently. Sanju Samson made an unbeaten 92 off 45 balls to be awarded Player of the Match; his innings included 10 boundaries and 6 maximums! Shreyas Gopal picked up four wickets to restrict RCB to just 173/4.

The Royals have seen great success at home against RCB at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, winning nine out of 11 matches at that ground and recording two seven-wicket victories against them during IPL play.

However, it appears unlikely that both RCB and RR will play their home matches in their respective cities for the 2026 IPL season. They are exploring playing home matches instead in Pune – something fans in Bengaluru and Jaipur who traditionally make their stadiums IPL hubs over two months would take a great disappointment in.

Hosting Rights

Both Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have considered Pune as an alternate home venue for IPL 2026 due to issues at their traditional bases in Bengaluru and Jaipur.

Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium was banned following last year’s stampede incident while Rajasthan lost rights to use Sawai Mansingh Stadium due to administrative issues.

Representatives from both teams visited Pune’s MCA International Stadium to evaluate its suitability as a home ground, keeping open the possibility that both franchises may play their home games there if successful; regardless, both franchises were eager to get back into playing as soon as possible – an essential priority given how IPL fans make their hometowns into hubs every season.
