India vs Bangladesh

India and Bangladesh have an incredible track record of creating exciting matches, packed with nail-biting moments.

That tradition continued this season when both teams faced each other in an exhilarating Champions Trophy semifinal clash that set new standards for Bangladesh as an emerging power.

Bangladesh’s maiden ODI win against India marked an enormous turning point in their cricket. Though India were dominant at that time, Bangladesh’s win gave them confidence and hope for future victories against them – eventually leading them on an incredible journey that now sees them emerge as one of Asia’s strongest sides.

India was quick to capitalize after rain had delayed play’s commencement, with Shree Charani sending Rubya Haider back in the first over of play and Sumaiya Akter later falling.

At that point it seemed game over but Sharmin Akhter and Amanjot Kaur put up an impressive fight, scoring 119-9 after 27 overs of play.

Bangladesh needed three runs off the last ball to win in the Super Over, but Akbar Ali miscued while running to reach his stumps quickly – one of the most stunning errors ever seen, and nearly costing Bangladesh an illustrious victory.

First Test

One must admire Bangladesh A skipper Akbar Ali’s post-match presentation. He spoke as though relieved; had they lost, his captaincy and some heroic bowling efforts from his bowlers would have come under scrutiny and criticism.

Instead, due to India’s surprising decision not to include Suryavanshi into the Super Over, Jitesh tried being cute but was caught off a pinpoint yorker ball by Ashutosh which left Bangladesh needing just one wicket; that didn’t seem possible until Akbar Ali missed off the last ball when Akbar Ali lunged forward but then missed by an inch off off his bat and won it all by missing with one last ball off Akbar Ali himself off that last ball and missed by one millimeter!

Radha Yadav mercilessly ran through Bangladesh’s middle order, sending back Sharmin Akhter, Sobhana Mostary and Nahida Akter for just 119/9 in 27 overs before it started raining again and play was reduced to Super Over.

Smriti Mandhana and Amanjot Kaur looked set to lead India into semi-finals before Akbar Ali caused some chaos by miscuing an amazing brainfade!

Second Test

India and Bangladesh’s second Test was postponed due to persistent rain on day two, leaving Green Park Stadium under cover with no balls rolled during play on that day.

Shubman Gill came back strong after an underwhelming display in the first innings, scoring 119 runs off 176 balls at a strike rate of 67 and hitting 10 fours and 4 sixes during his stay at the crease – silencing critics by showing what he was capable of when push came to shove.

At the final over of the match, Litton Das attempted a lofted shot off full delivery that seemed headed for a boundary but Rohit Sharma dashed out from cover and took an incredible one-handed catch to end it all – it was an outstanding display from India’s captain who is now just one win away from equalling their record of most consecutive Test victories by an Indian team.

India are now unbeaten at home in Tests, making them a serious threat when they travel to New Zealand in mid-October for three matches.

Their batsmen have improved substantially; as evidenced by their annihilation of Bangladesh here. India will undoubtedly remain formidable under Rohit Sharma and will prove an all-conquering team moving forward.

Third Test

Bangladesh-India rivalry is one of the most intense and dramatic in cricket, having played 14 matches between them with India winning 12 and Bangladesh two victories respectively.

Their clashes often produce dramatic moments with nail-biting finishes. Below we take a look back at some memorable moments from this historical rivalry.

Bangladesh made history at the 2007 ICC World Cup by beating India in a group-stage match, making history by defeating an established powerhouse like India for the first time ever from subcontinent. This landmark achievement served as an inspiration and set them on their journey toward future success.

This match featured two of Asia’s greatest teams in an intense battle for supremacy, culminating in an outstanding thriller that went down to the wire. Bangladesh managed a miraculous win against India despite errors and mental miscues from both players.

Bangladesh were in pursuit of 61 runs with four wickets left in the Super Over, when Akbar Ali made an error with his run-out decision; mistiming it to long-on and Nehal Wadhera misthrowing from close range; all looked lost until Ripon came through with an outstanding bowling performance to save Bangladesh from tie.

After being delayed due to rain, the match finally got underway in Navi Mumbai. Bangladesh opener Sumaiya Akter was sent back in the opening over by Renuka Singh; and from that point forward their batsmen struggled to score regularly.

Fourth Test

India scored an innings and 239 run victory over Bangladesh at Fatullah to complete a series whitewash of their hosts. Bangladesh were bowled out for just 207 in their opening innings with India captain Virat Kohli and Murali Vijay both scoring double centuries to secure an emphatic win for India.

Bangladesh started off their second innings strong, leading by 118 before steadily losing wickets at regular intervals. Saif Hassan led Bangladesh with an excellent 51-ball score of 69 but many other batsmen struggled.

Rishad Hossain takes an important wicket with Shubman Gill by bowling an aggressive fuller delivery outside off and inviting him to strike big over long-off; but upon impact his bat twists upon impact and sends the ball flying away into deep where Tanzim Hasan Sakib can easily collect it.

FOUR! Hardik Pandya strikes Suyash’s short and wide delivery for four runs to score his second six of the over, helping Bangladesh make their comeback.

Fifth Test

India hold an overwhelming edge against Bangladesh across formats and have won 13 of 15 tests they’ve played with two ending in draws.

India have defeated Bangladesh in most ODI matches played, winning 32 out of 41 and drawing one game; but their match in 2007 showed they can challenge India on an equal playing field.

Bangladesh tried hard in their second innings but could not hold back India’s spinners. Saif Hassan made valiant efforts and survived four dropped chances before running out of steam and eventually departing due to India tightening up after him and Bangladesh batting collapsing quickly in its chase of 150 runs.

India and Bangladesh met in a low-scoring Women’s ODI World Cup quarter-final that ended without a result due to rain’s early interruption. Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and elected to field first; Renuka Singh struck early when Bangladesh opener Sumaiya Akter hit one straight to Shree Charani at short third for India batting first.

Sharmin Akhter and Rubya Haider attempted to build an innings, but Radha Yadav was relentless in her attack and sent both batsmen packing.

Later in the second innings she showed her strength by sending back Sobhana Mostary and Rabeya Khan – denting Bangladesh’s middle order significantly – before Smriti Mandhana and Amanjot Kaur put together an innings before rain halted play altogether.
