Jonny Bairstow made an immediate impact during his debut for Mumbai Indians as he assisted in their 20 over total of 228-5. Rohit Sharma played an excellent 81 off 49 balls to give Mumbai Indians the momentum they needed.
Additionally, veteran player survived two dropped catches on three and 12 by Gujarat players which further highlighted their ineptitude on fielding matters.
However, the game came down to the wire with Sai Sudharsan leading Gujarat Titans and scoring an unbeaten 80 off 49 balls in an intense Eliminator at Mullanpur. Unfortunately, his efforts went waste as Gujarat fell short by 20 runs in this high-scoring encounter.
The Titans suffered an early blow when Trent Boult of New Zealand caught Shubman Gill at backward point. But they rallied thanks to disciplined bowling by Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah; further supported by Sudharsan’s superb 80 which formed part of an opening stand with Washington Sundar of 84 runs between them.
