Proteas enjoyed an astounding victory against India, notching their first Test series win since 2000 at Eden Gardens. South African spinners excelled with some outstanding bowling performances in this turning pitch environment and helped power South Africa to victory.
India’s batsmen weren’t quite able to adapt to the challenging turning conditions, yet still managed to score over 400 runs between both innings. Nonetheless, their spinners ensured that this total didn’t surpass 400 which would have presented quite a challenge to any side.
Proteas batted first and set India an impossible target of 124 to chase in their second innings, yet India managed to put together an unlikely partnership between Bavuma and Brevis which got close before deteriorating pitch conditions eventually saw Brevis dismissed with 22 runs scored and India eventually being all out for just 93 – giving Proteas a crushing win!
The fourth T20I at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow was called off due to heavy fog, making conditions unsafe for players and spectators. 2. ODIs
ODIs (One Day Internationals) are international cricket matches between two teams from the same country, where each side can claim one-day international status and play against any other one-day international-rated country. Modern scorecards feature three powerplays called PP1, PP2 and PP3, which allow each side to score six runs in an over before bowlers are changed; then in the fifth and final Powerplay each batter can take one single before their innings is concluded.
South Africa’s stock is on an upswing following an outstanding World Cup campaign. Their men’s team won the ODI World Cup for just the second time ever; and their women’s side reached the ODI World Cup final under coach Mandla Mashimbyi’s leadership.
White-ball side may have experienced recent struggles, yet its rebound remains tangible. Shukri Conrad may not have fared so well as all-formats coach yet; he will likely be judged solely based on major tournament outcomes for now.
India’s performance in the ODI series was truly outstanding, as they put immense pressure on their opponents by scoring big totals.
Additionally, Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna both played outstanding bowling spells that saw four wickets each taken from them.
Quinton de Kock’s century was the highlight of this match, becoming only the seventh player ever to score 13,000 international runs and becoming only seventh ODI centurion against India – equaling both Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar records in major ODIs.
Aiden Markram made history again with another stunning full-length dive catch – it marked two diving grabs this season that would help remove opponents. Aiden will go down as one of ODI cricket history’s great fielders!

He is an integral member of India’s T20I side, showing impressive form in both domestic and international T20I matches he’s taken part in so far this season.
