England scored 248-3 at Southampton to set their highest T20 international total on English soil since Australia beat them with 457 at the same ground in 2013.

Ben Duckett made an inspired 84 while Jacob Bethell scored an unbeaten 61 to help England rout an ineffective West Indies bowling attack that produced only 25 dot balls in total.

The ICC T20 World Cup is one of the premier events in cricket and an integral component of global calendars, featuring top teams around the world as well as fans worldwide tuning into its action.

ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026

The 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will showcase some of the sport’s finest players across iconic venues in England and Wales.

From nail-biting showdowns to exhilarating celebrations, this tournament will propel women’s cricket into mainstream society. In addition to London Old Trafford Lord’s, Bristol County Ground, Hampshire Bowl and The Oval, matches will take place.

On Saturday 13 June at Emirates Old Trafford, two qualifiers will compete, before Australia Women and South Africa Women meet.

Also at Emirates on Sunday 21 June will be two double-header events featuring South Africa playing India Women while Sri Lanka competes as a qualifier.

Following that the tournament will then move onto Bristol County Ground and Hampshire Bowl with Lord’s hosting its final on 26 June.

England are favourites to win this competition, having defeated West Indies 3-0 in their one-day series earlier this year.

But West Indies remain dangerous; having won four out of their five T20 matches so far this season. Therefore, this match will be pivotal in securing a top four finish for Group 2 at this tournament.

An England finish in the top four would qualify them directly for participation at the 2021 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

At present, they sit fifth in the ICC Women’s Championship table and must pass Australia to secure direct qualification. England could further their chances of direct qualification by winning Royal London One-Day Series against Windies.

England have had an impressive start to their T20 season under new captain Harry Brook. His unbeaten 88 included seven sixes as England reached 211-5 at Bristol for their highest total in any home format game since 2014. Rovman Powell also performed admirably, going unbeaten on 79 and helping England cruise towards victory.

As 10 teams battle it out at the Global Qualifier in Nepal from January 14-February 1, they look set for an epic competition full of historical rivalries, bucket-list matches and unforgettable memories that promises an action-packed tournament filled with power hitting and lightning pace – don’t miss a moment by streaming live on Sky Sports App!

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026

The 2026 edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to run from 7 February to 8 March and feature 55 matches at three Sri Lankan venues and five Indian stadiums, with the top seven teams from 2024’s tournament, three unqualified top-ranked ICC Men’s T20I Team Ranking teams not already qualified and eight other qualified teams set to participate.

Super 8 stage matches will become ever more intense as eight qualified teams are divided into two groups for do-or-die cricket with no margin for error.

The venue of the final is still to be decided upon; Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai seems likely given its immense capacity. At its grand finale, one will emerge victorious as champion of 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

England batted first against West Indies at Trent Bridge for the third T20I of their series and made an excellent start as Ben Duckett scored an exceptional 84 off 46 balls – marking the highest score by any England opener at home in a T20 game! His knock included 10 fours and six sixes to put England in an advantageous position early.

West Indies were unable to capitalise and failed to meet their required run rate by the end of their innings, leaving a disappointing ending to a tour which began with a crushing 3-0 one-day international series rout.
