Indian’s victory against England would boost its title hopes and demonstrate that its new-look squad can compete with the top sides in the competition.
Nat Sciver-Brunt’s squad have proven formidable opponents; winning both an ODI and T20 series in India earlier this year.

The Indian women’s national cricket team is overseen by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and represents them internationally under its auspices.
As full members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), it competes in Test, One Day International and Twenty20 International cricket matches; its captain is Harmanpreet Kaur with Smriti Mandhana as vice captain.
So far, Australia have shown great promise in the tournament so far, starting off strong against South Africa with a thrilling 10-wicket victory and then beating Bangladesh after an exciting chase.
Unfortunately however, their campaign hit a roadblock with losses against Australia and arch-rival Pakistan threatening their survival as contenders.
Harmanpreet Singh will look to restore their momentum when they take on England at Indore’s Holkar Stadium on May 15-16, featuring Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Harleen Deol, Arundhati Reddy Kranti Gaud and Renuka Singh Thakur; as well as wicketkeeper G Kamalini and fast bowler Vaishnavi Sharma as part of their squad.
This match will be broadcasted live by Star Sports network, with live streaming provided by JioHotstar. India has experienced difficulty with their Women’s World Cup campaign after suffering defeat against South Africa and Australia.
But they may yet salvage their campaign when they host England in Indore’s Holkar Stadium on Sunday in their fifth round-robin match; Harmanpreet Kaur’s side must win at least two more matches before reaching the semifinals.
England women have performed outstandingly so far in this tournament, winning both opening games by Nat Sciver-Brunt’s side. Both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka won by big totals against them while Pakistan were limited due to rain interruption in their run chase attempt.
The match will be streamed live across SonyLiv and Fancode apps in India and also made free by Jio TV in India. The top four teams will advance to the semi-finals with winners from each playing off in a one-off final;
Australia have won seven World Cups while England and New Zealand are behind with four each. India are hoping for their first final ever in Women’s World Cup history under Harmanpreet Kaur as captain of their women’s team.
India vs England Live Scores
India women’s team hopes to make an impressive showing at the World Cup, especially with Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana in top form. In their opening match against Sri Lanka on December 21, India will face-off at Visakhapatnam with Mandhana, Kaur, Pratika Rawal, Sneh Rana, Richa Ghosh Kranti Gaud Renuka Singh Thakur Shree Charani Amanjot Kaur Jemimah Rodrigues Amol Muzumdar all being present among others in their squad.
Indian bowlers have performed admirably so far, with Deepti Sharma and Shree Charani both taking wickets at critical moments to limit runs scored against India. But for their efforts to truly pay off, more needs to be done in terms of improving performance.
Smriti Mandhana’s unbeaten 122 was outstanding but unfortunately was not enough to secure India victory in this match.
India must score 300 runs to secure victory; after 16 overs they only have 68 on board and facing an uphill task of reaching that target. Though not impossible, achieving such feat will certainly present formidable obstacles and be a tremendous undertaking.
England have struggled so far, but have the talent and ability to turn it around quickly. Tammy Beaumont and Nat Sciver-Brunt have led them to score some decent totals; therefore they stand a good chance of making it to the semis.
Linsey Smith began bowling the 50th over with an initial full toss delivery that only Amanjot managed to score one run from. Amanjot then attempted a six off the next ball but missed it before going for a switch hit which Alice Capsey managed to catch at long off.
