Mumbai made history when they came from behind and won by six runs in an exciting match to remember for all involved. Mumbai won Elite Group D with four wins and three draws to set up this high-stakes encounter, which they topped courtesy of four wins and three draws against Karnataka who have claimed six titles (and three runners up titles) since 1980, producing some of India’s finest domestic players such as Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble Javagal Srinath Venkatesh Prasad Sunil Joshi who have gone onto represent India at international level along with Ravindra Jadeja Virat Kohli R Ashwin and Dhoni who hail from Karnataka which boast 59 Test caps and 398 ODI caps among its residents!

Mumbai are well known for their rich tradition in domestic cricket and have produced some great players over time, such as Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar and Anil Kumble who have all left an imprint in Mumbai’s cricketing landscape. Additionally, their squad contains both veteran players as well as younger talent who contribute.

In 2014/15 season, Mumbai cricket team captured both Vijay Hazare Trophy and retained Ranji title by defeating Tamil Nadu in final. Furthermore, their Irani Trophy performance was equally strong, winning four out of six matches played. All-rounder Shardul Thakur leads this Indian side well.
