Mumbai won by 80 runs
Mumbai Indians remained in the hunt for a playoff spot and kept their hopes alive with a 13-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders. Jasprit Bumrah and Krunal Pandya bowled well in the last over as Rohit Sharma’s men put up 206 for four.
Suryakumar Yadav’s 91-run innings, which included a six and two fours, helped them reach a daunting total on the board. But the visitors never came close to overhauling it, despite Dinesh Karthik’s 41-ball 82 and Quinton de Kock’s 42.
It took just one boundary to decide the match, with Aditya Tare hitting a six off James Faulkner in the 15th over to ensure that Mumbai would reach the required net run rate by a whisker.
The Assam Cricket Team Vs Mumbai Cricket Team Match Scorecard highlights the importance of key moments and individual performances in determining match outcomes. That left the equation for a play-off spot clear, although Rohit’s side will need to win nearly all of its remaining matches and also need other results to fall their way.
