De’Von Achane
Check out all the highlights from De’Von Achane in his first NFL game with Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane showing 4.32 speed for 20-yard burst up the gut and an epic 46-yard run that set up Riley Patterson field goal early in the second quarter.
On Miami’s next possession, Achane continues his impressive performance by taking a reverse throw and outwitting multiple defenders for a 40-yard score before taking it himself for another 8-yard TD run that extends their lead 17-3.
Cleveland reclaimed their lead with an 83-yard drive capped off by rookie running back Quinshon Judkins scoring his third rushing touchdown of the game. Achane demonstrated his big play ability with a 41-yard punt return for a touchdown and 35-yard punt return touchdown; in addition, he added a 58-yard reception; Achane is one of Miami’s most potency players this year.
Tua Tagovailoa
Tua Tagovailoa’s future with the Miami Dolphins was uncertain entering this offseason, although general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan stated his interest in trading or otherwise moving him, however no agreement materialized and ultimately they released Tagovailoa and started seventh-round rookie Quinn Ewers instead as quarterback.
Tagovailoa’s release by General Manager Chris Grier marks what appears to be a comprehensive overhaul of their roster, following earlier moves such as cutting veteran pass rusher Bradley Chubb and offensive linemen James Daniels along with wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine following another seven winless campaign that failed to qualify them for playoff contention.
With the draft quickly approaching, Cleveland Browns’ main priority will be strengthening their offensive line. Although they already possess considerable depth in this department, more help may still be necessary – Utah guard Tyler Fano may be worth considering, who has consistently allowed only one sack per season since 2017 and could make for an ideal addition to Cleveland’s offense.
The Browns must also secure an adequate backup quarterback. Free agency has brought them a number of names – including former Alabama star Kyler Murray. However, Baker Mayfield remains their rising young talent who could serve as their starter in years to come.
Tagovailoa may find that his new team can offer him the stability and support necessary for him to flourish. While Dolphins officials have struggled to secure an appropriate home for their backup quarterback, the Falcons appear more committed than ever in supporting his quest of becoming an NFL starter.
As the 2026 NFL offseason commences, Jeffri Chadiha presents 10 key questions that need to be answered. From how Kyler Murray will perform to whether Sam Darnold can change their trajectory for good, Chadiha reviews all of the significant items on this year’s agenda.
Dee Eskridge
Dee Eskridge led the Dolphins as their top punt returner and saw his offensive snap count increase by 16 percent while seeing an 11 percent boost in target share – making him a vital component of their second-half offensive production.
Miami’s defense opened up strong, forcing three-and-outs and restricting Cleveland quarterback Dillon Gabriel to short completions. Miami’s offense responded, as running back De’Von Achane accumulated 83 rushing yards for an outstanding performance; however, Cleveland capitalized on an opportunity in the third quarter and took an 18-3 lead.
The Dolphins took back the lead in the fourth quarter when rookie quarterback Quinn Ewers connected with wide receiver Dee Eskridge on a 40-yard pass, followed by another touchdown when Ewers connected with Achane on another 5-yard pass play.
Although the Dolphins improved offensively, their defensive effort fell short of making a comeback against Cleveland Browns and ultimately lost 31-6. On Sunday they will look to bounce back against Atlanta Falcons who currently hold down final playoff spot in AFC South with Houston Texans; winner will get bye into wild-card round; loser plays each other again and plays winner of divisional playoff game which could determine who meets New England Patriots for Super Bowl victory which they have won six consecutive times!
Malik Washington
Washington is an extremely versatile wide receiver who has quickly established themselves as the team’s de facto lead receiver this offseason, thanks to Jaylen Waddle, Tyreek Hill, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine leaving their roles behind this offseason. Washington has moved up in terms of depth chart depth as he prepares to take advantage of a more prominent position during this campaign.
He finished his debut preseason game by breaking out for a long run and racing into the end zone on an end-around pitch from quarterback Quinn Ewers, as well as outwitting Los Angeles Chargers special teams by returning a punt 45 yards.
He is an outstanding deep threat who can play both inside and outside the tackles for the Dolphins this season, as well as being an ideal target in fantasy football leagues.
