West Indies vs New Zealand
New Zealand are coming off an impressive 2-1 Test series win against England, during which Tom Latham became only the fifth Black Cap to reach 6,000 Test runs.
Additionally, New Zealand are bidding to make history and secure a five-match ODI series win in West Indies for the first time ever; their squad boasts Northern Districts speedster Matt Fisher as well as returning captain Jacob Duffy.
Due to rain, this match was reduced to 34 overs per side. Shamar Springer (WI) made his ODI debut; scoring was tied at 132 for two when play was suspended for the day.
1st Test
After an inauspicious start to their week, West Indies were unable to recover as India easily won their debut home Test match against them. KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja continued their impressive performances while Mohammed Siraj further cemented his standing among cricketing circles.
Tagenarine Chanderpaul’s century was the only highlight for the tourists, whose batsmen surrendered pathetically in surrendering. Joe Root made attempts at being positive at his press conference but will likely lose his captaincy when this series concludes.
Overall, the tour was successful but not without some difficulty for the team in Australia. They experienced racism including having to stay in separate hotels due to their Roman Catholic faith; due to this issue the cricket board wrote directly to the Australian government asking that this be changed.
2nd Test
Due to rain, no play was possible on the first day of this Test match. Under current rules of Test cricket, if one team’s first innings total is 150 or more runs below that of its opponent(s), they can choose whether or not to impose follow-on batting; England could have made this choice but decided against doing so.
Jacob Duffy claimed five wickets to help New Zealand make an emphatic start in Wellington at their second Test against Windies, who were missing several frontline bowlers and skittled them for only 128 runs in all four innings of the match.
Devon Conway and Kane Williamson then eased New Zealand towards a comfortable victory target that provided much-needed respite after their dismal defeat in Christchurch; now holding an early lead 1-0 lead in series play.
3rd Test
New Zealand completed their 2-1 series win against West Indies with an emphatic 323-run victory on the final day at Mount Maunganui, thanks to Jacob Duffy’s 5 for 128 and match figures of nine for 128 in both innings – dominating in both. Brandon King led Windies scoring with 67 runs.
The visitors struggled early, losing three wickets during the morning session to Ajaz Patel and Roston Chase being caught out by Duffy. But post-lunch they showed some promise, with Roston Chase sharing an unbroken 95-run partnership with Shai Hope before being caught out by Glenn Phillips for 21 runs.
New Zealand batted freely against England on a challenging surface and Tom Latham and Devon Conway both scored quick centuries to take control of the match from tourists.
4th Test

In addition to Test matches, West Indies players also regularly participated in limited-overs international (LOI) games.
Justin Greaves’ unbeaten 202 not out score in Christchurch helped secure a draw against New Zealand and captain Roston Chase praised it as “herculean”.

On Day 4, the visitors looked on the verge of collapse as their top order lost four wickets within two sessions, but an incredible 196-run partnership between Shai Hope and Justin Greaves saved them.
Greaves’ maiden double-century was an impressive effort and showed exactly what it takes to become a true test batter. Kemar Roach displayed remarkable resilience as the lower order batted on for over two sessions to keep the game alive.
8th Test
The Windies cricket team represents West Indies countries and territories which speak English. Administered by Cricket West Indies (CWI), its uniform features maroon with white stripes and golden detailing.
