Origins
The West Indies cricket team represents an English-speaking Caribbean sporting confederation. Administered by the West Indies Cricket Board and often known by their nickname – ‘The Windies’, this national side officially joined sport’s international governing body, Imperial Cricket Conference, in 1926 before hosting their inaugural official international match known as a Test in 1928.
