Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Sophia Dunkley set England off to a blistering start, only for Deepti Sharma to strike and remove both in the 13th over – leaving England needing 56 off five overs in order to win their game at home.
Shree Charani bowled an effective final over, and with Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones scoring timely boundaries against India it appeared England would make their target with ease. But Arundhati Reddy removed both Sophie Ecclestone and Paige Scholfield in two balls to secure India a historic series victory.

Deepti Sharma removed both players in her next over, providing India with an opening back into the game. Shree Charani bowled an effective 17th over to keep England within striking distance – 28 need to come off from four final overs for them to win the match.
Amy Jones and Sophie Ecclestone helped India overcome their opponents, scoring six off of the final ball to secure victory. Harmanpreet Kaur also celebrated winning her 334th ODI cap, passing former skipper Mithali Raj. Both teams presented her with lots of hugs as this win sealed a 3-2 series win for India; Shafali Verma being its top scorer with 75 runs scored during this series win.

India women fell short of claiming a five-wicket win against England women in the fifth game of their ENG-W vs IND-W T20 2025 series at Edgbaston but still managed to take an unassailable 3-2 lead with Shafali Verma scoring 75 to lead her side.
Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Sophia Dunkley got England off to a fast start in their chase, both scoring their fifty in just 33 balls. Unfortunately Deepti Sharma sent back Dunkley four short of her fifty in the 15th over before dismissing Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones to deny their hosts a certain victory.
